FAST FACTS: A Championship-Proven Trailblazer Redefining What’s Possible: Wickens remains one of the most compelling stories in global motorsport - returning from a life-altering INDYCAR accident in 2018, which resulted in paralysis to win races and a championship using advanced hand controls. His continued success isn’t just inspirational; it’s technically groundbreaking, in partnership with Bosch, Wickens is showcasing innovation in adaptive driving systems that are influencing the broader automotive and mobility space. Wickens and Filippi Reunite: Mason Filippi and Robert Wickens are rekindling a long-standing partnership that began during their time as teammates at Bryan Herta Autosport from 2021–2024, where they developed a strong working relationship—though never sharing a car. That changed at the 2025 Nürburgring 24, where the pair teamed up in the same entry and delivered an impressive second-place finish in class. Longtime friends off track who regularly work together in the simulator, their shared data, communication, and experience should position them as a highly competitive pairing as they reunite at the top level. Last Year at Long Beach: Robert Wickens made his GTD debut at Long Beach last year, marking his first time competing on a street circuit using hand controls—and he immediately impressed by finishing the opening day at the top of the time sheets. Building on that momentum, Wickens continued to deliver in 2025, he started inside the top five in three of five sprint events, highlighted by a career-best third-place qualifying effort in front of his native fans at the Canadian Tire Motorsport Park. Wickens secured three top 10 finishes, with a season-best result of fourth at CTMP. Street Circuit Debut: Mason Filippi enters Long Beach as a proven champion in the IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge, but the iconic event marks a new milestone - his first time competing on a street circuit. Despite that learning curve, Filippi carries strong momentum into the weekend following an impressive start to the GTD season with DXDT Racing in the #36 Corvette Z06 GT3. R. Having already logged significant seat time in the endurance rounds at the Rolex 24 and Twelve Hours of Sebring - effectively the equivalent of a full sprint race workload, Filippi arrives well-prepared, race-hardened, and ready to translate that experience into performance on the tight streets of Long Beach. Double Duty: Wickens serves as a Technical Advisor for Andretti Global’s INDYCAR team and will resume those duties, from the#28 timing stand of Marcus Ericsson on Sunday for the 51st running of the Acura Grand Prix of Long Beach. Welcome, Wealthspire: Wealthspire, a comprehensive wealth management, retirement and endowment advisory, and business management firm, joins DXDT Racing as a new partner and makes its motorsports debut this weekend. The No. 36 Corvette Z06 GT3.R will hit the streets of Long Beach in a striking gold-and-black Wealthspire livery. “This partnership is a strong representation of the Wealthspire brand,” said Carl Nelson, president of Wealthspire. “DXDT Racing operates at the highest level of its sport and shares our commitment to precision, excellence, and high standards that we bring to the services we provide our clients. We’re pleased to be part of their 2026 season as we continue to expand our sports and entertainment practice and work with athletes, entertainers, and their teams.” DRIVER QUOTES: Robert Wickens: "It’s going to be a really exciting weekend both on and off track at Long Beach. I can’t wait to get back into the Corvette Z06 GT3.R and reunite with DXDT Racing. Last year we showed a lot of promise together and I hope to continue building on that momentum. This race never disappoints. We’ve got a great partner Wealthspire, and I’ve got a great co-driver in Mason and all the confidence I need in my team, I’m happy to be back.” Mason Filippi: “To say this is an exciting time for me is an understatement. I am well prepared for this race, my first on a street circuit having spent a lot of time in the shop prepping with our Team Manager, Bryan Sellars who has had a great deal of success here. Robbie and I have been on the simulator together daily, we’ve been good friends a long time and have a great synergy, I am thrilled to share the car with him and pick up where we left off at Nürburgring. Every lap in the car is moment to learn the extremely strong Corvette platform, and with the Wealthspire livery we are all set for success.
