Taking the Points Lead Into the Final Two Rounds
After a season of hard work in the No. 33 Bryan Herta Autosport Hyundai Elantra N TCR, Mason Filippi heads into the IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge season finale atop the championship standings.
It's been a long year to get here.
Every round in the No. 33 Hyundai Elantra N TCR has been a building block — qualifying sessions dissected line by line, race strategy sharpened weekend over weekend, and a Bryan Herta Autosport crew that has put a car capable of winning underneath me every single time out. That work is what it takes to lead a championship this deep into the season, and it's what got us here.
The last stretch has been the best of the year. A runner-up finish at Watkins Glen kept the momentum rolling, a win at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park was one of the most satisfying weekends of my career, and a podium at Road America kept the points columns moving in the right direction. Three straight results like that don't happen by accident — they happen because the whole team is executing at the level it takes to fight for a title.
Now we take that into the final two rounds of the season. There's no easing up from here. Indianapolis and the season finale at Road Atlanta are both circuits where this Hyundai has been strong, and there is nothing I want more than to finish what we started back at Daytona.
None of this happens without Hyundai Hope on Wheels behind this car all year, and without a Bryan Herta Autosport team that never stops working to find the extra tenth. Two rounds to go. Let's go finish it.
