Track Facts
The Corkscrew (Turns 8 and 8A) is one of the most famous corners in motorsport — a near-blind left-right combination with an elevation drop of roughly 59 feet (18 meters).
Built on land used by Fort Ord, a U.S. Army post, the circuit takes its name from the dry lake (laguna seca means "dry lake" in Spanish) that sits nearby.
The track has no permanent lighting, meaning all racing finishes before dark.
The sound of the circuit is legendary — the natural amphitheater formed by the surrounding hills traps engine noise and creates an extraordinary spectator experience.
Monterey Car Week, held in August each year, brings over $400 million in economic impact to the region and turns the area into a global motorsport hub.
