Track Facts
Road America is one of the longest permanent road courses in North America — at 4.048 miles, a full race lap takes noticeably longer than at most other circuits.
The track was built after local authorities banned racing on public roads around Elkhart Lake, which had hosted informal road races since 1950.
The famous Canada Corner — a high-speed sweeper — and the Kink are among the most exhilarating sections of the circuit.
The facility sits within a natural park-like setting of 640 acres of Wisconsin countryside, making it one of the most beautiful venues in motorsport.
Average speeds at Road America are among the highest in IMSA, with GT cars regularly exceeding 170 mph on the front straight.
